Legacy of Pearl S. Buck Lives On Thanks to Caring and Generous Donors

More than 200 guests were inspired to help build better lives for children around the globe and here at home during the fifth annual Living the Legacy Breakfast held Friday, September 18 at the Pearl S. Buck National Historic Landmark Site.

The breakfast, held in the elegant outdoor tent on Pearl S. Buck’s 68-acre homestead, celebrates the author’s humanitarian legacy and inspires others to open doors, build cultural bridges, create hope and provide opportunity.

The event’s keynote speaker was Pearl S. Buck International Board Chairman David Breidinger, Senior VP of Comcast, who shared his moving story of meeting his sponsored child from the Philippines.  Romalyn was being raised by her grandmother in a cramped slum dwelling and struggled to attend school.  Today, as a Pearl S. Buck International sponsored child, Romalyn attends school regularly and has access to healthy food and health care.

Thank you to all our donors and generous sponsors, including Jamie Hollander Catering and Events, Open Aire Affairs, Univest, Jay Delp Productions, Local Living, Diversified Refrigeration, Inc., Capital Insurance and Investment Planning LLC, and Comcast.
