Events for up to 350 guests can be accommodated at Pearl S. Buck International. Your guests will look out onto our magnificent rolling hills, blue sky, tranquil ponds, and glorious perennial gardens.

The Garden Tent

Nestled among the gardens of the historic Pearl S. Buck House, the Garden Tent serves as the perfect location for weddings, family reunions, or corporate picnics/retreats. Accommodating up to 350 people, the Garden Tent is a beautiful place to hold your reception or special occasion.

Accommodates: Up to 350 Guests
Includes:
Grounds, Terrace, Bride’s Room and Cultural Center. Packages starting at five hours.
Fees: Contact Open Aire Affairs for fees.
Catering: No vendor restrictions. Bring your own caterer, florist, or disc jockey. Vendors subject to approval by Open Aire Affairs.
Restroom Facility: Located on exterior ground floor and second floor levels of Cultural Center

Pearl S. Buck House Grounds

The 68 acres of Green Hills Farm provide visitors with a sense of peace and tranquility. The gardens, maintained by our dedicated volunteers, provide a wonderful landscape for your private outdoor event or ceremony. A beautiful location for weddings, picnics, family reunions, and corporate events. Or, you may opt to photograph your wedding party here for a minimal fee, even if you are not having your wedding or reception at Pearl S. Buck International.

Accommodates: Up to 350 Guests
Includes: Grounds, Terrace, Bride’s Room. One Hour Set-Up/One Hour Breakdown
Fees: Contact Open Aire Affairs for fees.
Restroom Facility: Located on exterior ground floor level of Cultural Center. Other facilities may be available for an additional fee.

Flagstone Terrace

Encircling the Pearl S. Buck House is a flagstone terrace and beautifully-maintained perennial gardens. The terrace provides an intimate setting for a cocktail hour or private ceremony with the breathtaking historic house as a backdrop. Due to the possibility of inclement weather, Pearl S. Buck International requires that the Cultural Center or Garden Tent be rented along with the flagstone terrace.

Accommodates: Up to 200 Guests
Fees: Contact Open Aire Affairs for fees.
Kitchen Facilities: Available for refrigeration, food warming and food staging only. Cooking is not permitted. Outdoor kitchen tent may be required (renter’s responsibility).
Restroom Facility: Located on exterior ground floor and second floor levels of Cultural Center.
Set-Up/Breakdown: Rental begins and ends on contracted times. Hourly rate charged for set-up and breakdown.

Cultural Center

The estate’s original 1827 red Pennsylvania barn, renovated into the Pearl S. Buck Cultural Center, serves as an excellent venue suitable for personal or business functions. The barn features unique architecture, stage with a fireplace, and cozy arched private seating area.

70 people for Seated Dinners and Luncheons
100 people for Theatre-Style Seating
150 people for Cocktail Parties

Kitchen Facilities: Available for refrigeration, food warming and food staging only. Cooking is not permitted. Outdoor kitchen tent may be required (renter’s responsibility).

Optional Equipment: Wireless internet available.

Conference Room

The conference room, located in the Home Office of Pearl S. Buck International, has two walls of windows looking out into the beautiful forests on our grounds. Internet access is available.

Accommodates: 8 people. Available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only.
Includes: Conference room, wireless internet, and TV/DVD player.
Fees: $150/half day, $250/whole day

A Beautiful Place for Pictures

The Pearl S. Buck estate is an incredible backdrop for wedding photographs. Bring your wedding party here for a minimal fee, even if you are not having your wedding or reception here. Contact Open Aire Affairs for fees.

Wedding Favors

In lieu of wedding favors, you may choose to make a donation in honor of your guests to Pearl S. Buck International in support of our efforts to aid children throughout the world.

Tour the Pearl S. Buck House

Include a memorable experience for your guests by introducing them to the legacy of Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author, Pearl S. Buck. Guests may enjoy a guided tour during the cocktail hour or as scheduled. All arrangements for guided tours must be made through Pearl S. Buck International 30 days in advance of your event.

Preserve Your Special Day Forever

Consider purchasing a brick to be placed in our Preservation Walkway leading up to the Pearl S. Buck House as a permanent reminder of your special day! Preservation Walkway bricks are personizable with three lines of up to 16 characters per line.

Important Rental Contract Terms and Conditions

  • Rental fees payable to Pearl S. Buck International support the operation of the Pearl S. Buck House
  • 50% of site rental fee is due at reservation
  • Rental fee balance is due 15 days prior to the event
  • Up to $1,000 refundable security deposit is due 15 days prior to the event
  • Security deposit is refunded 10 days after the event
  • Insurance rider must be supplied 30 days prior to the event by all renters
