For Some Children, There Is No Opportunity
In a letter announcing the formation of The Pearl S. Buck Foundation in 1964, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck wrote, "This organization shall not act solely or primarily, but only incidentally, as a distributor of relief to deprived children until they are trained, educated and given opportunities to sustain themselves."
Today we support international programs that assist disabled, orphaned, displaced, and minority children and their families.
Through its programs, Pearl S. Buck International strives to fulfill Pearl S. Buck's own words..."We have too many displaced, angry people in our world already. Let us not have more! Loved, educated and cared for in Asia, these children may help build the bridge of mutual understanding between East and West." |
