The past two years have been one of tremendous growth, change, and opportunity for the Pearl S. Buck House. The Site has furthered its goal of becoming a professional museum by approving a collections policy, implementing an interpretive plan, creating stewardship plans, updating security, and initiating a professional assessment of the historic structure. The Pearl S. Buck House conducts interpretative tours, exhibits, and educational programs with an emphasis on cultural understanding and humanitarian values. The House is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays for guided tours. The Gift Shop, located in the nearby Cultural Center, offers a variety of Asian gifts, crafts, books, and jewelry. The House and Gift Shop are open to individuals, families, students, and tour groups from March through December. Learn more about the Pearl S. Buck House

For countless abandoned or orphaned children, the only hope for a real future exists in adoption. For more than 55 years, the Welcome House® Adoption Program of PSBI has worked to provide loving and secure homes for orphaned and abandoned children. Specializing in the needs of multi-cultural children, nearly 7,000 children from 28 nations around the world have been placed with loving families. The program offers a full range of services, administered by experienced social workers, assisting parents through the complex international domestic process. We seek homes that will recognize and celebrate a child's birth culture and we prepare adoptive families for the challenges they will face. Our overseas staff works in conjunction with registered agencies of orphanages and adheres to all government regulations to protect children. Information meetings and events are held to assist prospective parents learn more about providing a loving home for these children in need. Additionally, we provide post placement services to our adoptive families to guide them through the transitional issues surrounding international adoptions. Learn more about Welcome House®

Opening Doors... to expand opportunities for children and families who would otherwise be denied health care, education, livelihood, and psycho-social support by developing and delivering resources and standards of excellence to affiliates and partner agencies throughout the world.
|
PSBI currently has branch offices in Korea and Vietnam, affiliated organizations in the Philippines and Thailand, and a partnership program in China. An independent non-affiliated organization also operates in Taiwan. The services provided vary by country, but all programs use our HELP model of service which focuses on Health and Education. While Sponsorship continues to be a major source of funding for the majority of our overseas programs, a Champions for Children program is offered to donors as a more cost effective way to support programs for children. PSBI provides health and education services for children and their families who are our target groups:
