High School Leadership

For Teens from Grades 9 through 11

The Pearl S. Buck International High School Leadership Program is designed for high school students who are interested in making a difference in their community. Since 2010, the program has served over 100 graduates.

Training is modeled on business management training and is designed to prepare high school students for leadership roles in their community and globally.  The 30-hour program builds leadership skills through training modules in team communication, diversity, creativity, leadership 101, goal-setting, and decision-making.

Students develop a service project and set goals to implement the project in a timely manner. Past projects include: a 5k run to support the Pearl S. Buck House, a raffle to aid families impacted by a typhoon in the Philippines, a project to fund immunizations, a fundraiser to purchase school supplies for children in the Philippines and an informational video on the High School Leadership Program. The options are endless and the students work together as a team to promote their cause. At the completion of the program, students celebrate their success at a graduation ceremony.
